YOWIE Chocolates – 2023 Toy Series Campaign Video

The Client

Marketing agency Social Tap engaged Ravel’s animation team to develop a fun and captivating animated video on behalf of their client, the Yowie Group. The video was used to promote the (then upcoming) 2023 Yowie “Baby Animal” toy line.

The Challenge

Social Tap relayed that the previous iteration of Yowie animated content was not tonally or thematically in-line with the values of the brand and wanted key creative that embraced the positive and inclusive perception of the brand. Broad direction provided was to also transition Yowie’s animation production from 2D to full 3D CGI.

Ravel's Solution

Collaborating with Social Tap, Ravel’s animation team developed a new direction for Yowie, which would accommodate the positive, inclusive, and uplifting tone of the brand. The 2023 toy line, “Baby Animals” led the animation’s story to focus on Ditty, the Woodland Yowie, whose nurturing kindness was the perfect fit to pair with the animal characters. Brand perception of being a “treat” for good children was represented by the father and daughter characters who go out exploring Ditty’s woodland and discover the chocolate surprise.
