The Client

The Pacific Community (SPC) is committed to helping Pacific Island countries and territories address the risks posed by climate variability and climate change. As the principal scientific and technical organisation of the Pacific region, SPC supports sustainable development across more than 20 sectors. 

The Challenge

SPC approached Ravel with the goal of promoting their climate adaptation and mitigation activities through seven videos, each addressing a different area of focus in the plan for climate resilience. These videos would need to be informative and people-focused, with consideration for the many diverse communities that populate the Blue Pacific. The message of these videos, while serious and data-driven, would need to be presented in a way that was empowering rather than accusatory.

Ravel's Solution

Ravel developed a bright and textured style for this video campaign, working closely with SPC to ensure appropriate character designs representative of Pacific Communities. Paired with fluid transitions and balanced infographics, these videos conveyed the vibrant diversity within the Pacific while addressing their vulnerabilities to climate change. The result: a community-centred collection of videos with an inspirational tone.
