The Client

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) is Australia’s lead management agency for the Great Barrier Reef. Protecting and managing one of the world’s most iconic natural beauties comes with many challenges, with climate change, coastal development and illegal fishing practices all presenting active threats to Reef health.

The Challenge

The Marine Park Authority require engaging ways to express their activities and critical environmental events that can impact both marine life and the public. Two key examples being coral bleaching events due to climate change and the safety risks involved with whale watching on private watercraft.

Ravel's Solution

Both projects were treated with high-quality 3D visualisations. ‘Whale Safety’ was purely animated, while ‘Assessing Coral Bleaching Events’ was a joint venture with Ravel’s film team which allowed real GBRMPA representatives to be integrated into the 3D virtual environments.
